Pulling into the number 8 position is Lynfred Winery in Roselle, IL.  Founded by Fred Koehler (considered the father of the Illinois wine industry) has some pretty serious aspirations to produce “wines of excellence” which he seems to have accomplished, earning the title of a legend.  Other wine legends, such as Robert Mondavi, have tried to pull his talents to areas like California but Koehler has deep roots in Illinois so it looks like he’s here to stay!  Having been named in industry leading wine publications, such as the Wine Spectator, this winery is quickly growing by leaps and bounds!
