Snowing on my Wine Rack Again

Even though we have less than a week until spring, old man winter is playing with us again. I woke up to over an inch of snow on the ground. It is still coming down right now. They warned us about it on the news last night but I scoffed at it thinking we were done with the white stuff. I was wrong again.

I may hate surprise snow storms but I love a good thunderstorm. You don’t see too many of these in western Washington. We seldom see more than two or three a year. Before moving here I remember a few good ones in California. I even recall seeing a lightening bolt strike in a neighbors horse field.

The best storms I ever saw were in the Midwest. Mother Nature knows how to give a good show in Minnesota. They’d thunder in, scare everyone into shelter, and thunder out.

I am looking forward to experiencing some good storms on the east coast. I’ll just turn off the lights, enjoy some wine off my make-shift wine rack, and watch the storm roll through.

Snowing on my Wine Rack Parade

I woke up to a nice surprise this morning, snow, again. And it is still snowing this evening. It isn’t unheard of to have snow in February but it doesn’t happen too often or fall this thickly. It is starting to stick to the roads and will soon make driving difficult if it doesn’t melt by tomorrow. Luckily I got my errands done early.

I think tonight I’ll have to break out some champagne off my wine rack to chase my winter blues away again. I just can’t believe how it could be so beautiful and warm this weekend and then drop snow on us like this a few days later. Nature is a cruel mistress in the Northwest. You can never trust the weather forecast and never know what the weather is going to be like until the day of. I love living in Washington State but the weather tends to eat away at my soul in the winter.
